The glasses of Horatio are like a part of his character. He tends to clean his horatio caine sunglasses after saying his lines and when he finds a body, he looks away wearing his glasses and says in one line what he thinks about the nature of the case that is in hand. The character is of a simple officer who solves cases in which many maybe difficult ones. This simple character is loved by many maybe due to his style and the way he works and completes and solves the case to reach the conclusion.
